
Situated

delicacy on the sandstone mansions they built, filling up facades with

Getting there
Fly Away : The nearest airport is at Jodhpur (308 km). Flights of
Alliance Air (a subsidiary of Indian Airlines) link Jaisalmer to Mumbai,
Delhi, Jodhpur, and Jaipur.
On Tracks : Jaisalmer is well linked to cities within Rajasthan. A
broad gouge line connects Jodhpur to Jaisalmer

Sightseeing Overview
Jaisalmer Fort :
It is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan enclosed under the three strong
walls. The steep cobblestone pathway leading to the royal palace passes
through four gatesAkhai Pol (Ganesh Pol), Suraj Pol, Bhuta Pol and
Hawa Pol. Sharp turns on the road, topped by high defence gateways, make it
invincible. At the highest point of the palace can be seen a Meghadamber.
Gaddisar Lake :
This is a picturesque rain water lake with numerous beautiful shrines
around and a spectacular avian variety. One of the favorite tourists spots
in Jaisalmer.
Havelis :
Jaisalmer is known for its havelis especially the Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim
Singh Ki Haveli are worth watching.
Nathmalji-ki-Haveli : Built in late 19 th century, the
haveli endorses intricate architecture of sheer craftsmanship. The left and
right wings of the mansion which were carved by two brothers are not
identical but very similar and balanced in design. The interior walls are
ornate with splendid miniature paintings.
Patwon -ki-Haveli : It have exquisitely carved pillars
and extensive corridors and chambers.One of the apartments of this five
storied high haveli is painted with beautiful murals.
Salim Singh-ki-Haveli : This 300 year old haveli of
Jaisalmer's Prime Minister to Maharaja Rawal Gaj Singh-Salim Singh.
