The
'Rajsthan Desert Safari' package has been optimised leaving behind the
'package approach'. It's an experience rather that a package. Camels, the
sturdy guys of the desert, have been a part and parcel of people's life here
for ages. A camel safari makes you recollect the era when the traders from
far off countries set foot here and passed through the Thar Desert. The
desert could, in an instant, conjure up vivid images as colourful as the
cities and people of Rajasthan. It's a land where the sand dunes change
their address every now and then but the desert itself does not. The
package, that suits first timers the best, brings with a variety of
experiences that you would love to remember. Also included in the package
are sightseeing trips of the cities of Delhi and Agra where the splendour of
the Mughal kings can still be felt in the gallant forts and dream-like
monuments that stand tall and elegant.
Day1 : London - Delhi
We leave London Heathrow in the morning to arrive at Delhi's IGI Airport
around midnight. Upon arrival at the airport, the travel representative
escorts you to Hotel Park Royal or Grand Intercontinental for check in and a
traditional welcome. Recharge your muscles and have some sleep.
Day2 : Delhi
Start your day with a nutritious breakfast. Enjoy the interiors and the
congenial atmosphere of the hotel. Make yourself comfortable with the world
class amenities. After a delectable lunch, the travel assistant takes you
out on a sightseeing trip of Delhi. Pay visits to famed sights as the Red
Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, Rajghat, India Gate etc. Also stroll
through the markets of Chandni Chowk and soak in the medieval flavour that
the markets still retain. Return to the hotel for an ethnic dinner and
overnight stay.
Day3 : Delhi - Agra
Today we head to the iconic city of Agra, a powerful city
of
the medieval era. Lunch is served on board. Further, your travel guide takes
you to the Taj Mahal. The sight will definitely prove to be a treat for your
eyes. The guide also acquaints you of the history that revolves around the
grand edifice. Later, the guide accompanies you to the Agra Fort, the
erstwhile stronghold of the Mughals. Eventually, the travel assistant
escorts you to Hotel Mughal Sheraton or a hotel of the similar category for
a toothsome dinner and a nightlong stay.
Day4 : Agra - Jaipur
After an early morning breakfast, the company's representative leads you on
your drive to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. On the way, you also
get to visit the desolate city of Fatehpur Sikri that was abandoned by the
Mughal emperor owing to inadequate supply of water. Later, we continue our
journey towards the pink city. Upon arrival, the travel manager escorts you
to Samode Haveli for dinner and overnight stay.
Day5 : Sightseeing of Jaipur
After a relaxed breakfast, the travel manager leads you to the Amber Fort
for a regal elephant ride. Later, he guides you to visit such famous
attractions as the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar
Observatory. Also enjoy a leisurely stroll through the local markets of
Jaipur. Return to the hotel for a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.
Day6 : Jaipur - Jaisalmer
Today, we head to the golden city of Jaisalmer that is positioned in the
heart of the Thar Desert. On arrival, he accompanies to the Fort Rajwada or
Gorbandh Palace for check in. Later, he takes you to visit the Jaisalmer
Fort perched on a hilltop. Other attractions to visit include Jain Temples,
Sonar Quila, Palace Museum, Patwon Ki Haveli and the Gadisar Lake.
Eventually, get back to the hotel for a sumptuous Rajasthani dinner and
overnight stay.
Day7 : Jaisalmer - Sam Sand Dunes
After
breakfast in the morning, the travel manager guides you on desert safari
through a Jeep to the Sam sand dunes. Spend some quality time in a tent and
watch the shifting sands of the Thar Desert. Observe the colours of the
dunes change with daylight. The sights become even more enchanting as
evening falls. There awaits you a splendid performance by folk artists
attired in their colourful traditional costumes.
Acquaint yourself with the rustic charms and interact with the friendly
natives of the Khuri, a quaint Rajput village near the Sam. Stay at ethnic
camps in the village and listen to the melodious tunes of the flute. Sit
around a bonfire under the star studded desert sky and gorge on traditional
Rajasthani barbecued cuisines served a la royalty to the accompaniment of
rhythmic beating of drums and soulful folk music. Overnight is to be spent
at the camp.
Day8 : Sam - Delhi
Have a relaxed breakfast in the morning. Shortly after the breakfast, the
company representative takes you out on your drive to the city of Delhi.
Upon arrival in the city, the travel manager escorts you to Delhi's IGI
Airport to connect to your after-midnight flight to London.
Day9 : Delhi - London
We travel back to London Heathrow to arrive in the city the same morning.
